Question: Can I pass out flyers, candy, promotional items during the parade?
Answer: Only sponsors have permission to pass out items during the parade. If you would like to be a sponsor click here.
Question: How do I register my group for the parade?
Answer: Complete the online application in its entirety, submit the application along with your $25.00 application fee (non profit groups, community organizations, bands, step teams, etc) or $75 with your application if you are for profit business an you are advertising your business and or service during the parade.
Question: How do I pay my application fee?
Answer: Your application fee can be paid online utilizing our secure Pay Pal service. You will receive a confirmation email that your payment and application has been received and processed.
Question: Can I pay my application fee in person:
Answer: No. All application fees must be paid online utilizing our secure Pay Pal service.
Question: When and what time does the parade start?
Answer: The parade starts at 11:00 am at 9th and Tryon Streets and ends at Tryon at MLK.
Question: I would like to rent a professionally made float for entry into the parade. Where can I get one?

Question: Do you offer refunds?
Answer: No, all payments are non-refundable.
Question: Can you verify that you have received my application?
Answer: It is not necessary to contact us to verify receipt of payment. An email is automatically sent to you after registration. If you have not received it, please be sure to review your spam/junk email folders for the message.
Question: I’ve submitted my application but I do not know when and where to report.
Answer: We do not release details for the parade day until the week of the event. We must allow time for all registrants to have completed their application.
Question: Why is there a cost to participate in the parade?
Answer: There is a cost to execute and manage parade. The parade application fee helps to offset, at a minimum, some of those costs.
Quesiton: Can my group, my child, myself provide entertainment at the parade?
Answer: As you can image we receive numerous inquiries from people wanting to use the parade to get their name out. We cannot accommodate everyone. And from time to time we allow special performances during the parade. For this year’s MLK Holiday Parade we are NOT in need of any special performances.
